NOTES

Handheld cutters don't cut glass; glass is scored by a scoring wheel drawn along the surface and then broken out. As you roll this cutter, a minute fracture in the surface called a fissure will develop. A fissure will yield a good, clean, and strong edge and is practically invisible when looking at the glass surface.

Be sure to thoroughly clean the glass's surface before you begin cutting. It is also important to note that the cutting line shouldn't be cut repeatedly. For good control, the top of the cutter must lean into the direction of the cut. Also be sure to start at the edge and allow the cutter to run off the bottom edge. If you have made a quality fissure, breakout should be simple. A bend of only 2–3 degrees should provide sufficient tension for a successful breakout along the running cut. Use this tool as a bottle cutter or tile cutter, or even add it to your stained-glass supplies
